In-Studio Massage ~ Serving Greater San Diego

Louise Hughes, LMT - CERT #70036
I have been a therapist for over 25 years now and I am more passionate than ever to help alleviate people's pain and suffering. It all started when I went for my first massage back in 1991. I did not know much about massage at the time. After my first treatment I became a regular. I could not wait until the end of the work week to receive another one!

I was looking for a career change soon after receiving massage, so I asked my massage therapist what it was like to be one. She simply reached out to me, put her hand on my arm, and said ''Can you touch people?" Without hesitation, I touched her arm, "Sure, I can touch people!" And that's what started my journey.

All these years later, I'm still enjoying my career. So much that when I finished school for Occupational Therapy, I practiced just a few short years when I realized I can't retire to this job. I like it but I don't love it! I soon found myself massaging again and thriving. I do look at my clients as patients. Massage is truly therapeutic (outside of the spa setting) when done right. I take the intake process seriously. This paints a picture of the patient's lifestyle so I know just what type of massage they need the most. I truly listen to my clients. That is key! Never will someone experience another massage on their neck forever when they told the therapist it was their LOW BACK that hurt.
I use locally made organic products. I believe in the power of Arnica. I have been using it for over 20 years as a pain reliever. Currently I use an arnica/olive oil infused shea butter. This mixture is an anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and is perfect for aging skin.

I believe in quality not quantity. I see 3-4 people per day. Spas typically see 6-8. That is why a person receives 45-minute hands on experience at a spa. They want you in and out. I truly take my time with each and every patient. My mission is to educate each one of you about what is going on with your pain. I want each person to be able to help themselves at home between visits. I suggest products for alleviating pain and keeping you comfortable when you can't get to see me. I will continue to help people of all ages until I can't do it anymore. I hope to see you on my table soon!
